Bobcat, a manufacturer of construction equipment, is exhibiting its latest electric construction equipment and digital technology advancements at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ (AEM) Celebration of Construction on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The event will run from May 14 to May 16 and will focus on the contribution of the construction sector to creating a more sustainable world.
Electric Bobcat Loaders
Bobcat’s electric construction equipment is eco-friendly and capable of performing tasks better than their diesel-hydraulic equivalents, while using significantly less fluid onboard, less noise and vibration, and fewer parts. The T7X all-electric track skid steer and the S7X all-electric wheel skid steer from Bobcat are compatible with a wide range of non-hydraulic attachments, and the company is working on electric versions of typical hydraulic equipment.
The T7X has an operating capacity of 2,900 pounds (1,315 kilograms) at 35% of its tipping load and 107 peak horsepower (80 kilowatts), with an operating noise level of 65.4 dB. In contrast, the S7X skid steer provides up to 8 hours of runtime per charge.
Excavators From Bobcat
Bobcat’s electric excavators include the E10e and E32e, with the former measuring just 28 inches (711 millimeters) wide and capable of passing through doors to reach small-area inside projects. The E10e provides 5.28 gallons (20 liters) per minute of auxiliary hydraulic flow and 10.05 HP (7.5 kW) of electricity to a project, and it can be recharged in as little as two hours using a 240-V, 50-A connection or overnight using a 120-V, 15-A power supply.
The E32e has a 7,862-lb (3,566-kg) digging capacity and 16.58 HP (12.36 kW) and can be fully recharged in around eight hours using a 240-V, 50-A power supply. It is 59 in. (1,500 mm) broad and has an auxiliary flow of 16.9 gpm (64 Lpm).
Bobcat Intelligent Control System
Bobcat will also display its E60 diesel-powered excavator at the AEM exhibition, which comes equipped with the Bobcat Intelligent Control System. The system allows the operator more customizing flexibility over the E60’s operation modes, with innovative features such as Drive-By Joystick travel control. The excavator also features robust depth-check features, Bobcat Max Control remote control, and potentially autonomous operation. The long-arm and extendable-arm versions of the 6-ton (5.4-metric-ton), 55-HP (41-kW), E60 excavator have corresponding digging depths of 157.2 and 177.6 in. (3,993 and 4,511 mm).
According to Joel Honeyman, vice president of global innovation at Doosan Bobcat, the company’s goal is to enable workers to accomplish more while creating a better future. By creating a range of revolutionary technologies and environmentally friendly approaches, Bobcat aims to make work more productive and sustainable.
