Hyundai Launches HL985A Wheel Loader with Advanced Features

At the Con-Expo – Con-Agg 2023 last month, Hyundai Construction Equipment America unveiled the HL985A, its newest wheel loader. The HL985A is the company’s largest-capacity model and is designed to handle high-production tasks such as quarrying and mass-volume material handling.

Impressive Performance and Efficiency

The 430-horsepower Cummins X12 performance series engine and ZF 5 transmission that is included with the HL985A offer maximum power and torque. The loader also features heavy-duty ZF axles with wet outboard brakes and coolers as standard, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.

The A series wheel loaders from Hyundai do not use exhaust gas recirculation, eliminating the need for recurring shutdowns. The Smart Power Mode and Eco Gauge functions are standard features of the HL985A that help save fuel while ensuring efficient performance.

The cab of the HL985A features a rearview camera, electronically adjustable and heated rearview mirrors, an AM/FM radio with Bluetooth, a 7-inch multi-function monitor, and an air conditioner and heater. The loader also has Hyundai’s All-Around View Monitoring (AAVM) technology that enhances job site safety by giving operators an integrated 360-degree view around the machine.

Exclusive Onboard Weighing System

Hyundai claims that the HL985A includes the company’s exclusive onboard weighing system that is precise to within 1%. This system has a cumulative weighing function that helps produce production reports for high-volume material handling applications that require monitoring and reporting the weight of materials loaded or moved.

Easy Service and Maintenance

The HL985A is designed for easy service and maintenance. The tank spouts for diesel exhaust fluid and consolidated service drains are located on the right side of the loader. The hood can also be opened and closed electronically, and the swing-out cooling package, dual battery boxes, and in-cab HVAC system filter are all easily accessible and replaceable.
