However, the tools they used to make were hammers, grapples and shear, all of which are important to carry out smooth operations at the construction, agricultural and mining sites.

Over 450 people worked at the Wamego factory at its busiest in 2019. They performed a variety of jobs, including welding, CNC machining, fabrication and shaping, painting, and assembly. It is worth noting that this factory ships 90% of its manufactured goods to customers in North America, demonstrating its significance in Caterpillar’s supply chain.

On June 6, 2024, the Wamego complex’s employees were informed of the closure decision. The neighbourhood associations promised to assist the impacted workers and make an effort to draw in new businesses.”
