When Bobcat decided to expand its North American facility to bring more leads to the company, it was near to impossible, but luckily the renovation ended successfully. The company stepped in the material handling operation in North America and it required a facility expansion to run smoothly. The overall budget dedicated to the renovation project was around $3.26M and was completed on August 12, 2024.

What does the renovated centre look like?

The Bobcat’s Buford facility in Georgia was already running successfully and serving its customers with the best products with innovations. However, this 200,000 sq. ft facility was chosen as the best place for their new material handling operations in North America. The facility will likely hold several departments including sales, services, marketing, parts and logistics.

The renovation of the facility was done in both interior and exterior parts to make it look like a new and more improved place to work. The inside facility was further renovated to add office spaces, break rooms, and a big conference hall to carry out all the major meetings and bring innovative ideas to the board. Importance of Buford site

Many questions arise that why Bobcat only chose the Buford site as their material handling sector. Bobcat cleared this confusion by stating that the material handling operation has been started in the North American market. For this, Buford is the ideal location as it is spread over a large area. This facility already provides over 30, 000 line items to help affiliate units.

At this stage, the facility is handling a wide range of material from this centre. It is reported that the logistics are being exported to multiple countries by using around 179 different types of forklifts. These available used forklift trucks for sale have more capacity to cater for products as they are available in their diesel, gas, and electric-operated versions as well. These trucks may provide handling of around 3000 to 5000 pounds of material which is significantly amazing at this level. Bobcat has a plan to further expand and bring more equipment to support this operation.

Will this expansion affect Bobcat’s market presence?

In early 2024, bobcat entered the material handling market and introduced a range of new product lines. Jarrod Steck is the vice president of material handling products at Bobcat, he stated that

The entry of Bobcat in the logistics market has made a significant difference in the company’s overall position in the market. He further added that the Buford facility has expanded by 40% over the past few years which is still in line to grow bigger. This is a mere indication that the company has held a prestigious marketplace in these past few years. the dedication of the team and innovative approach to solving the problem have made everything possible.

The number of workers at the Buford plant has increased significantly. Since 2022, there are currently over 180 staff working there and this expansion project will take many more employees on board. Bobcat is still looking for bright people to fill positions in the product support, sales administration, and product and components departments. This shows that the company is dedicated to helping its employees grow and to reaching new markets.
