Heavy Rainfall Causes Flooding And Blocks Over 200 Roads In Kentucky

Natural catastrophes are no less than disasters when they occur more than usual.

An emergency was declared to impose immediately

As per the forecast, 2-5 inches of rain was predicted on February 14, which forced Governor Andy Beshear to put the state on alert as the rain was expected to take an unexpected turn.

Unexpectedly, the rain became more disastrous compared to the prediction because the additional 3-7 inches of snowfall made it worse. Considering the seriousness of the situation, Trump has ordered the local government to put an emergency on an immediate basis and provided aid for the affected areas.

Local emergency responders and federal authorities started evaluating the damage and helping impacted areas. 

Rescue teams were sent out, emergency supplies were distributed, and temporary shelters for displaced residents were set up as part of the relief efforts.

According to a press release from Governor Beshear’s office, the number of fatalities had increased to 14 as of February 18.
