Tadano cranes are always winning hearts when it comes to the longest and strongest boom lift jobs.

Are you working on a similar project and need some extra feet to reach the high end? Here is Tadano with its all-new and upgraded version of the AC 5.250L-2 crane, which is a 259-foot boom.

Isn’t it amazing?

This strong five-axle crane is a great option for heavy-lifting jobs and urban building sites because of its remarkable reach, lifting capability, and portability.

It is designed to easily tackle difficult lifting jobs because of its impressive main boom, which is 259.2 feet long, and its maximum system length of 357.6 feet.

It offers maximum lifting capability

Reaching far away spot of skyscraper building during construction is now possible with this latest and modern Tadano cranes

In this crane, additional extensions can increase the maximum reach to 357.6 feet, while the primary boom can reach up to 259.2 feet.

Self-erecting extensions, on the other hand, range in length from 19 to 98.4 feet, making assembly easier and saving downtime.

This crane is excellent in terms of lifting capacity and take to the farthest top of the building. It can effectively manage heavy loads with a load moment of up to 736 metric tons.

With a 44.3-foot-long boom and a 23-foot working radius, it can also support up to 231,920 pounds of weight. For even more capacity, it can handle loads up to 305,780 pounds with a short boom and more sheaves due to an optional heavy-lift attachment.

It is simply a one-fits-all solution for your heavy lifting jobs.

It can easily be transported

Similar to its previous version, the AC 5.250-2, this new AC 5.250L-2 is designed for portability so that you can easily carry it to the site.

This crane’s 530 horsepower Mercedes-Benz engine, which generates 1,917 lb-ft of torque, maximizes fuel efficiency while delivering strong performance. However, its Eco Mode minimizes pollutants and fuel consumption by ensuring that the engine only produces the necessary power at any given time.

This way, it also becomes fuel-efficient heavy equipment.

The crane has a 10×6 drive configuration for simplicity, which enables it to ride on 16-inch steel wheels and still meet the 26,500-pound axle weight limit.

A different 10×8 drive configuration satisfies the 36,400-pound-per-axle limit, giving operators options under transportation laws.

Also, the crane can support more equipment in both configurations while still staying within weight restrictions.

The counterweight mechanism is enhanced

Considering the customers’ need, Tadano has created an easy-to-use counterweight mechanism that guarantees portability while improving the crane’s lifting capabilities.

With three different lifts, the AC 5.250L-2 can raise its maximum counterweight of 176,400 pounds:

109,300 pounds rotating in a full 360-degree circle with a radius of 22.3 feet

Two more weights, each weighing 33,500 pounds, were placed 42.7 feet away

The counterweights can be separated into smaller pieces for more transit flexibility, but no single piece should weigh more than 22,050 pounds.

If necessary, this enables simpler handling and transportation on smaller trucks.

Safety features and crane control is not compromised

Tadano’s IC-1 Plus crane control system, which is installed on the AC 5.250L-2, dynamically determines the maximum lifting capacity in real time depending on the slewing angle and boom position.

Operators can make the most of the crane’s potential due to this smart mechanism, especially while lifting over the outriggers.

Five positions, 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, allow the outriggers to be expanded, providing more stability and adaptability on various surfaces.

The crane has a start/stop feature that, when pressed, switches off the engine while maintaining control software functionality for improved fuel efficiency.

You can use it as a comfortable carrier

Tadano’s ergonomic cab design prioritizes operator comfort and safety. To lower operating noise levels, noise-emitting hydraulic parts are placed away from the top cabin.

The cab has a roomy interior, secure safety gear attachment points, and quick access steps.

Some other advancements in this upgraded version are:

Using pendant lights to increase visibility

A load view camera to improve oversight

To keep a wireless connection with the camera, a repeater device is installed on the boom head.

Two Cents

With its remarkable blend of reach, power, and transport efficiency, Tadano’s AC 5.250L-2 is revolutionizing the all-terrain crane market.

It is a great option for heavy-lifting tasks in urban and industrial environments because of its strong engine, modern safety features, and creative control system. This latest model in Tadano’s series is designed to tackle the most difficult tasks with accuracy and ease, whether they include constructing massive tower cranes, maneuvering through congested job sites, or lifting cargo onto tall buildings.
