U.S. Government To Fund $623M To Boost EV Market

The U.S. heavy equipment market and construction infrastructure is blessed with another good news. The U.S. government has awarded $623 million to boost the electric equipment market in terms of creating charging networks that support automated vehicles.

A total of 22 states within the state will receive this financial funding to upgrade their capacity of charging automated wavy equipment.

What Is The State’s Goal To Build High-End EV Changing Stations?

According to the Federal Highway Administration’s report, this grant is the quarter part of a $1.2 trillion infrastructure development plan under Joe Biden’s constructional development goal. He as the U.S. president aims to elevate the state’s capability of producing high-quality automated vehicles by installing 500,000 chargers by the end of this decade i.e. 2030.

Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grants To Know

Additionally, Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grants will help in the development of 47 EV charging along with hydrogen-fueling-based construction projects. The 22 U.S. states will witness the construction of 7500 electric equipment charging ports.

All thanks to the CFI programs a sit complement the $5B National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) development plan that will create the backbone to support these high-speed equipment charging ports, as per FHWA’s recent report.

Ohio, NYC, and Pennsylvania will have the latest charging stations that are environmentally friendly and support heavy equipment’s well-being in the long run.

As per the agency’s report, a total of 70% of the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grants will go to the construction sites of disadvantaged communities.

The project will also cover rural and urban communities with high-quality hydrogen fueling and EV charging stations. Busier roads named Alternative Fuel Corridors will also enjoy the grant as a part of the alternative fuel chain.

But what should contractors obey to avail of the grant? 

• Strong compliance with made-in-American rules
• Maintenance and installation of systems that abide by “durable and eco-friendly workplace standards”

Further Projects Funded By U.S. Government

According to the FHWA report following are the projects that can avail of the developmental grants;

• $70 million to construct 5 hydrogen fueling places in Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and San Antonio for heavy to medium-duty freight transporting equipments is awarded to the North Central Texas Council of Government. 
• Maryland Clean Energy Center was awarded $15 million to constransporting equipmentstruct 87 electric equipment charging spots in suburban, low-urban, and moderate-income societies within the state. 
• County of Contra Costa to develop 52 high-tech chargers with 60 level 2 chargers at 25 different locations with a $15 million grant. 
• 40 fast charging spots with 12 level 2 charges across the west of Washington state and Oregon (north) with a $15 million grant. The project aims to provide counseling facilities to rural areas including Indigenous Tribal lands.
• 48 electric charging stations in Mesa (a city in Arizona) with a grant of $12 million to cater to heavy equipment of different sizes. It will also cater to e-bikes, scooters, and other solar canopies to promote EVs. 
• A grant of $10 million for residents of New Jersey and other disadvantaged rural areas nearby to enjoy the EV charging pumps. 
• Alaska native tribe to get $1.4 million to create EV charging stations in Haines to support rural deficiencies of catering heavy equipment.
